Chapman Brothers Show Stock is a flock of wether type sheep. The Chapman brothers, Bryant & Brad, represent the 6th generation of Chapman’s to raise sheep in the South Rockwood, Michigan area.
To say their passion for raising high quality livestock comes natural to them is an understatement. Their parents, Gary & Beth (Reaume) Chapman hail from livestock producing families. Gary’s family was very well known for raising and exhibiting purebred sheep at state and national levels over the many generations. Beth’s family was well known for raising hogs and cattle. Thus, Gary & Beth started Chap-Rea Acres in 1989 and began raising show pigs. As Bryant & Brad began in 4-H, a clear interest was shown for raising sheep and started their flock in the early 2000s.
Due to the untimely and unexpected loss of their father, Gary, to an aggressive brain cancer in 2018; the brothers decided to focus on one specie – sheep.
In December 2019, Brad graduated from Michigan State University (MSU) with a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and returned to operate the family farm with his mother, Beth. In April 2020, Bryant graduated with a DVM from Virginia Tech.
Bryant and Brad both enjoyed successful junior show careers; exhibiting multiple species – hogs, sheep, and cattle at the local, state, and national levels. While at MSU both Bryant and Brad had competitive collegiate livestock judging careers. Their true passion lies in breeding and producing competitive show stock. Thus, it is only fitting for them to return to the family farm and continue right where Gary left off.
